Focusing on the objectification of the human body resulted in these pieces that represent self containment and a foreboding interiority. I aimed to create works that despite their superficial refinement, are not necessarily pleasant. By applying the technique of deep buttoning, and referencing the style that is characteristic of inanimate furnishings of the Victorian bourgeoisie. I referred to the old and familiar styles from an era of artifice, to represent the body subjected to the same alienating status as inert, lifeless objects.
